Name: Richard Winn
What do you do at 900lbs?
I am a Visual Content Producer, with my main focus being on Traditional Video.
What do you do for fun?
I don’t do it as much as I use to but I rollerblade. Like handrails and ramps. Stuff like that. I also play Playstation 4 quite a bit. I am currently playing No Man’s Sky and NHL 17 with some of the guy’s in the office. Oh, and sports. I am a “homer” so all of the major teams in Dallas are the teams I have grown up with and root for. I also really love watching movies and television. Since I went to The Art Institute of Dallas, and got my Bachelor Degree in Digital Filmmaking and Video Production, I really like sitting down and getting immersed in the cinematography and technical aspects of my favorite movies or shows.
If you didn’t grow up in Dallas, where?
I think I inadvertently answered this by sharing my favorite sports teams. haha
I have a decently wide range of genres I listen to. Some of my favorite bands are like Emarosa, Pierce The Veil, Protest The Hero, Letlive., Beartooth, Dance Gavin Dance, just to name a few in the rock and metal categories. I also really dig EDM Trap. Like RL Grime and Point Blank. Oh, and rap. I like Kendrick Lamar, Tyler the Creator, Future, Earl Sweatshirt and Chance the Rapper just to name a few. I honestly could go on and on about music. Music plays a significant role besides the whole video thing.
Where do you hang out in your free time?
It depends on the time of year. During football season you can usually catch me on my couch. I get really in to the Cowboys games and so I tend to separate myself from people so that way I don’t embarrass anyone with my knee jerk reactions. I like to venture out to concerts and really cool patios when the weather permits. I enjoy craft beer, so anywhere that has a legit selection you could probably find me there.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
There are so many places I would love to visit. I have been out of the country once, and that was in Belize a few years back. That was such an incredible experience and it got me hungry for more opportunities to see different cultures, geography, and history around the world. Any where in Europe would be awesome. And if I can be truthful and honest, I haven’t been on the West Coast so that is something I definitely would like to see soon. Specifically the Pacific Northwest.
What is your favorite 900lbs project so far?
This is a super tough question. There have been so many already in my short time with the company. Getting to shoot for ZTE Tempo was really cool. Getting to be back behind camera is always a great feeling. The Mitel shoot was really cool as well because that was a bigger scale project and I got to put on a hat I haven’t worn in awhile, which is being an Assistant Director, making sure things are running smoothly and efficiently. The Dallas Cowboys Jumbotron video is basically a dream come true for me. I have always loved the Cowboys and while I went to school I wanted to work on all of the Jumbotron videos for the major sport teams around town. So getting to do that was just insanely cool.
