Ericsson is a global leader in telecommunications technology, best known for advancing 5G and delivering secure, high-performance networks worldwide. Its Imagine Studio is an immersive, interactive experience center where customers and partners explore innovations like private 5G, augmented reality, and digital twins through live demos and hands-on exhibits.

THE CHALLENGE

Ericsson’s Imagine Studio in Plano, Texas continuously evolves its interactive demonstrations to keep experiences fresh, relevant, and inspiring for visiting customers and partners. With a new partnership centered on a 5G-enabled intelligent helmet, Ericsson faced the challenge of translating highly technical capabilities into an engaging, easy-to-understand interactive experience. The solution needed to clearly communicate how advanced features, such as heads-up display, integrated cameras, crash detection, emergency response connectivity, and real-time communication, work together to enhance rider safety, situational awareness, and navigation, while also highlighting the critical role of 5G connectivity across multiple industries and use cases.

THE EXPERIENCE

900lbs partnered with Ericsson to design an interactive touchscreen experience that showcases the advanced capabilities of the 5G Intelligent Cranium Helmet. Positioned alongside the physical helmet in their space, the digital interface features a fully interactive 3D visualization, allowing visitors to explore the helmet through a 360-degree turntable view and intuitive touch controls. Users can engage with dynamic hotspots to discover key innovations such as crash detection alerts, a 240-degree field-of-view rear camera, front action camera, hands-free operation, heads-up display, AI-powered features, and 5G-enabled connectivity.

The experience was crafted with a clean, modern interface and fluid animation system that places the helmet at the center of the story. A premium, professional look and feel reinforces Ericsson’s brand identity, with consistent visual elements integrated throughout the UI and even reflected on the helmet façade itself.

As visitors select individual hotspots, rich content is revealed including text, imagery, and video showing the technical functionality and the value of each feature for consumers and service providers. Smooth, precision-driven transitions animate the user directly to the selected area of the helmet, creating a seamless and immersive learning experience.

To further support partner engagement, 900lbs developed a headset color customization feature, enabling Ericsson to rebrand the helmet in potential service providers’ colors, demonstrating flexibility, scalability, and market readiness.

THE RESULTS

Through this interactive experience, Ericsson can clearly communicate the real-world impact of 5G while tailoring the story to each audience. The solution demonstrates how 5G improves driver safety, connectivity, and situational awareness, positioning the helmet as a powerful example of technology that makes motorcycle travel safer and more intuitive. Designed for scalability, the experience extends beyond the briefing center and can be easily deployed at trade shows, conferences, and offsite engagements, expanding Ericsson’s reach and creating consistent, high-impact storytelling wherever their brand appears.
