Frisco Economic Development Corporation (Frisco EDC) and Visit Frisco are the driving forces behind one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States. Strategically located 25 miles north of Dallas in the North Platinum Corridor, Frisco offers a uniquely desirable environment for businesses and residents alike. Partnering with Visit Frisco, the city's Destination Marketing Organization founded in 2003, they showcase Frisco's appeal to diverse industries and promote it as a premier destination for meetings, sporting events, and tourism, earning industry recognition for their excellence. Recognizing the need to go beyond traditional presentations, Frisco EDC and Visit Frisco partnered with 900lbs to build a state-of-the-art Sales Experience Center—a dynamic environment designed to immerse potential investors and stakeholders in the story of Frisco’s success and the opportunities that lie ahead.

THE CHALLENGE

Frisco EDC engaged 900lbs to create an immersive Sales Experience Center experience. They required a custom software solution to deliver visually impactful VIP presentations, enable customizable GIS mapping, showcase dynamic persona-based content, and provide flexible schedule and content management. Beyond the digital elements, the EDC desired ambient, large-scale visual content and a captivating analog "Flipboard" display to engage guests passing by. The core challenge was creating an experience that resonated with a diverse audience, from VIP executives to walk-in community members.

THE SOLUTION

We approached the Frisco EDC project with our “bigger than the 800lb gorilla in the room” blend of design and technology, crafting a fully immersive Sales Experience Center that’s as flexible as it is impactful. Catering to a wide audience—from real estate developers and CEOs to local community members and startup founders—the Experience Center needed to be adaptable and engaging.

• The centerpiece is a striking 20ft touch-enabled curved LED wall, a canvas for dynamic presentations, interactive GIS mapping, and inspirational storytelling. It's a living window into Frisco’s success.
• A Vertical Display Controller manages navigation for seamless transitions between “scheduled corporate visitor” and “walk-up” community experiences.
• A robust Content Management System (CMS) underpins the visual experience, empowering the Frisco EDC team to schedule presentations, customize content based on visitor profile, and manage welcome messaging with ease.
• Recognizing the power of analog interaction, we incorporated a custom-built, motorized Flipboard Image Display. This dynamic, large-scale print collage adds a tactile element, complementing the digital experience.
• The entire system is underpinned by a comprehensive AV infrastructure:
  • secure local network connectivity
  • AVoIP display switching
  • immersive 5.1 Surround sound
  • Crestron Controls
  • LED Wall Video Processing and Display Spanning
  • Granular control over brightness, volume, and power scheduling, including HDMI/Clickshare input capabilities.

The Experience Center demonstrates Frisco’s value drivers across key industries including Fortune 500 companies, technology, healthcare, sports, tourism, and food & beverage.

THE RESULTS

Since launch in Spring 2025, the EDC has had many impactful client briefings. During fiscal year 2025, FEDC supported 14 corporate relocations and expansions, nine without financial incentives, underscoring Frisco’s market-driven appeal. Those projects are expected to create or retain more than 3,100 jobs.
